Pugs are a small breed (weighing up to 8 kg) with short legs that originate from China. They love to cuddle and are very playful and active for their size. Their qualities include being charming, intelligent, composed, cheerful and lively without being irascible, loud or aggressive, which makes them one of the most stable small breeds. 

Their agreeable character is well-suited for families with children and other pets and for older owners. The large, round head, bright eyes and wrinkled brows make the snout of this small breed quite expressive when they are happy, surprised or curious, which makes them irresistible to their owners. 

Due to their squared, stocky build and short snout, they require brief walks when it is not hot outside and since they enjoy food, you should make sure that they eat the optimum amount of food with regard to their body frame and needs. 

They have a life expectancy of up to 15 years.
